What Is Diet Really?

Fat accumulating in the body as a result of inadequate and unbalanced nutrition causes obesity and some chronic diseases. Diet programs implemented in line with healthy eating rules help people reach their ideal weight and regulate both their physical appearance and psychological conditions.

Ideal weight, which is among the diet terms, can be defined in many ways. The most used and most trusted ideal weight calculation method is considered to be the body mass index. The result obtained by dividing the person's weight by the square of his height is defined as BMI. A BMI value below 19 is defined as weak, between 20 and 25 normal, 25-30 overweight, 30-35 obese, 35-40 obese and over 40 morbidly obese.

Diet, which means diet, is of great importance as the first step to be taken for weight loss. Diet, which means all of the foods consumed by a living metabolism, is based on intense or restricted food consumption within certain rules.

Dieting requires determination and the essence is based on having a healthy nutritional metabolism and keeping the body weight at a balanced level. Preventing the intake of macro and micronutrients required for the maintenance of vital functions by starving the body for the sake of losing weight can cause irreversible damage.

Dietary lists should be prepared adequately and in a balanced way, except for the urgent cause of weight loss for health reasons. The diet list should be prepared according to the person's eating habits, height, age, weight, chronic disease, occupation and physical activity status. Making diet soups, diet snacks and diet bread that are low in calories and increase metabolism can increase motivation by making dieting more enjoyable.
